Working at Excelsior can be very rewarding!  Our team specializes in working with youth who are struggling with various social, emotional and behavioral issues. Internships & Practicums

Thank you for your interest in working with Excelsior!  Currently, we are not accepting applications for internships or practicums. Beginning in January 2018, we will begin accepting applications for Summer and Fall 2018 internships.

Therapist (Full-time)

Excelsior’s Therapists provide therapeutic services on an in-home, in the community, and/or outpatient basis. The Therapist works with the Regional Supervisor and the Clinical Director to coordinate the therapeutic services and the therapist’s primary function is to facilitate individual, family, and child-centered therapies designed for family stabilization.

Skills/Requirements:  MA/MS in therapy-related field from program qualifying under the Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Social Worker guidelines. Must be licensed in Colorado with either a LPC, LCSW, or LMFT; two years of experience working with trauma, children and adolescents (ages 6-18), and parents/guardians in a clinical and/or community-based setting.

Behavior Coach (Full-time)

Excelsior’s Behavior Coaches participate in the planning and implementation of client treatment plans; specifically through behavioral modification interventions with parents/guardians and youth.  Services are provided on an in-home, in the community, and/or outpatient basis.  The Behavior Coach helps identify resources, participates in client meetings, provides supervised visitation and interventions with both parties, maintains quality and timely documentation and reports.

Skills/Requirements: BA/BS in related field. Minimum of six months volunteer or paid experience working in a human services agency. Must be 21 years or older. Must maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License, with a good driving record, as well as current Colorado automobile insurance. Ability to work with parents and youth to administer behavioral modification techniques. Current first aid/CPR certification a plus. In-home sessions require flexible hours that may include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
