Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel
Excelsior Youth Center’s Triumphant FACES Gala is Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Sheraton Hotel Downtown Denver. Falling just three days after Mardi Gras, this year’s Gala will be a Black Tie Masquerade Ball. Along with dining, dancing and a fabulous live and silent auction, we are thrilled to have Big Bad Voodoo Daddy as our live entertainment to complement our Mardi Gras theme. So start searching for that perfect mask and Black Tie attire because you won’t want to miss this incredible event!
Visit www.triumphantfaces.org to learn more or purchase tickets.
Proceeds from this year’s Gala will support our girls who have been victims of Human Trafficking and Trauma. Recovery from these tragedies is a long and arduous process, requiring incredible strength and resilience from the victims, as well as support from the community.
Sandra Hagen Solin, founder and president of Capitol Solutions, is the 2015 Triumphant Faces Gala Chari. Sandra is supported by a host of incredible women chairing individual sub-committees: Tina Lovelace Sporkin and Kelly Spencer are the Auction chairs; Cynthia Treadwell is the Entertainment Chair; Natisha Walton is the Marketing Chair; past honoree Jamie Angelich is the Triumphant Woman Chair; and Ashley Prust the Young Professionals Chair.
Excelsior is thrilled to honor Roseanne Barr as our 2015 Triumphant Woman. The Triumphant Woman award was created in 2008 as an opportunity to recognize and honor women who have made the difficult journey of overcoming seemingly overwhelming adversity to achieve greatness in their chosen field or endeavor. Triumphant Woman honorees may have had troubled backgrounds, dysfunctional families, experience with poverty, or other extreme challenges. Triumphant Women are honored for “beating the odds” and becoming pillars of the community, displaying characteristics worthy of a role model to Excelsior girls.
Susan Hébert, Chief Executive Officer of Excelsior Youth Center says, “Roseanne Barr has overcome significant challenges in her personal and professional life and proves that regardless of your past and no matter how many challenges you are faced with, you can still make a huge impact in our world. Since Roseanne is a long-time supporter of helping victims of human trafficking, she is the ideal candidate to be honored as our 2015 Triumphant Woman. ”
